The Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation (GCGF) has launched a series of on-site meetings across cities and counties in the province to minimize policy gaps during the local government transition period.
The foundation said Wednesday it had begun its "Onda Pop-up Store" relay meetings, held under the themes of "Field ON, Empathy ON, Policy ON." The meetings are designed to directly assess the business conditions of small merchants and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) struggling with prolonged high interest rates, high prices, and external uncertainties, while reflecting regional industrial conditions and policy demands.
The GCGF plans to sequentially visit all 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province to hear field concerns and develop effective policy tasks that residents can tangibly feel. The initiative goes beyond simple opinion gathering, forming part of efforts to build a "Gyeonggi-style financial platform" that links guarantee support policies with strengthened cooperation among cities and counties.
The first meeting was held in Namyangju. Chairman Shi Seok-jung and representatives from SME and small business organizations attended the session, sharing support programs and presenting management difficulties and suggestions for institutional improvements. The GCGF has supported the growth foundation of companies in regional strategic industries, including hydrogen convergence clusters, renewable energy, semiconductors, and AI-based cloud services, through special guarantee programs.
"Policies created jointly by the field and policy institutions are the ones that have real effectiveness," Chairman Shi said. "We will shift the policy paradigm to be consumer-centered and actively reflect voices from the field." He added, "We will ensure there is no policy support gap even during the local government transition period."
Starting with Namyangju, the GCGF plans to continue the meetings in Uijeongbu, Anyang, and Pyeongtaek, eventually covering all cities and counties in the province.
