The selection of excellent procurement products with proven technology and quality continues.
The Public Procurement Service (PPS) presented designation certificates to companies selected as Excellent Procurement Products for the first round of 2026 at the Daejeon Government Complex on Tuesday.
In this year's first review of excellent products, 51 items, including BEST's "Automatic Control System for Pre-Blocking Abnormal Signs," were designated as excellent products out of 281 applications after rigorous evaluation of their technology and quality by outside experts.
The selection included numerous innovative technology products that enhance the safety and sustainability of society, such as AI-powered switchgear for predicting abnormal signs, deep learning-based fire detection systems, and energy-saving products. Twenty-one of the designated products came from companies entering the excellent product market for the first time this year.
In addition, seven products seized their last chance to enter the excellent product market through the expansion of application attempts for identical technology (from four to five), which offers opportunities to companies facing elimination. The expanded application limit will be piloted through this year.
"Approximately 4.4 trillion won ($3.2 billion) worth of excellent products were supplied through the public procurement market last year," PPS Administrator Baek Seung-bo said. "We will actively support outstanding small and venture companies so they can leap beyond domestic public sales channels and grow into the global market."
