The Busan National Science Museum has extended its long-standing lead in customer satisfaction metrics. The museum demonstrated its operational capabilities by maintaining strong performance even under stricter evaluation criteria.
The Busan National Science Museum said Thursday it received an "Excellent" rating in the 2025 Public Agency Customer Satisfaction Survey conducted by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MOEF), marking its fifth consecutive year as a top-rated institution. Of the 186 agencies evaluated, only five (2.7%) have maintained an Excellent rating for five years or more, and the museum is the only such institution under the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT).
Its score is also trending upward. The Busan National Science Museum posted 94.6 points, up 0.9 points from a year earlier, exceeding the average for other public agencies (88.1 points) by 6.5 points. Even under a revised evaluation system that expanded from three tiers to five, the museum retained its Excellent rating, extending a streak of "six consecutive Excellent ratings" across all surveys conducted since 2019.
The museum earned consistently strong marks across all evaluation categories. Key business areas including permanent and special exhibitions and educational programs all scored above 94 points, and the museum received high ratings across overall services including exhibit interactivity, visitor convenience, and institutional systems. Customer-centered operations combining "hands-on content" with a "comfortable viewing environment" were cited as key factors.
Digital transformation efforts are proceeding in parallel. The museum launched an AI Innovation Task Force in March this year to streamline operations and enhance customized services. Exhibition content is also expanding, with the museum opening a special exhibition titled "The Thinking Secrets of Geniuses" and planning traveling exhibitions across South Gyeongsang Province to broaden the science culture base in the southeastern region.
"Our efforts to improve service quality have translated into customer recognition," Director Song Sam-jong said. "We will not be complacent with current achievements and will continue providing better customer service and substantive science culture content that citizens can truly experience."
