Korean eco-friendly water management technology is expanding into Vietnam's smart cities and industrial complexes.
Samjin E&I, a member company of the Daejeon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said on the 23rd that it signed a "Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Development Cooperation for Water Treatment Infrastructure in Advanced Industrial Complexes" with Becamex IDC on April 21. The signing took place as a side event of the 17th Korea-Vietnam Environment Ministers' Meeting, held at the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment headquarters in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Samjin E&I will partner with Becamex IDC, a leading developer of industrial complexes in Vietnam, to build water treatment infrastructure for advanced industrial complexes across the country.
The two companies agreed to establish a comprehensive cooperation framework across eco-friendly energy solutions. The framework covers the development of ultra-high purity water supply systems for advanced industries such as semiconductors and displays, cooperation on wastewater treatment and water resource reuse solutions for industrial complexes, and the joint development of technologies for converting organic waste into biogas and producing green hydrogen.
As Vietnam has recently attracted large-scale investments from global semiconductor and electronics companies and emerged as a production base for advanced industries, demand for high-quality industrial water and advanced water treatment infrastructure such as zero liquid discharge systems is surging.
Accordingly, Samjin E&I plans to expand its Korean-style eco-friendly water treatment infrastructure model to major advanced industrial complexes in Vietnam, including Binh Duong Smart City being developed by Becamex.
"This is an important first step in applying Samjin E&I's environmental technology capabilities to Vietnam's advanced industrial sites," said Jung Ho-young, CEO of Samjin E&I. "Through close cooperation with Becamex, we will build a sustainable and competitive eco-friendly industrial complex model together."
Samjin E&I is accelerating its progress as a global environmental solutions leader based on technology accumulated at home and abroad. In March, it signed a technology transfer agreement with K-water for "intelligent water supply network operation technology," and in early April, it conducted a technology exchange with a delegation from Tanzania's Ministry of Water Resources.
