Daegu Health College, together with Gwangju Health University and Daejeon Health Institute of Technology, held a workshop to unify and standardize their curricula, the college announced on the 22nd.
The three colleges formed the "Handalbit Glocal Health Consortium University" in 2024 and were ultimately selected for the Ministry of Education's "Glocal University 30" initiative, and are now pursuing curriculum unification and related efforts.
The workshop was held at Hotel Suseong in Daegu on the 20th and 21st, with approximately 120 participants, including the presidents and key officials of the three universities as well as faculty members involved in curriculum development.
On the first day, participants shared the status of the consortium's learning center establishment and the outcomes of its school system, while also developing strategies to advance module- and track-based curricula.
On the second day, they drafted actual course specifications and drew up curriculum roadmaps for each department, further concretizing future directions.
Based on this mega-regional consortium framework, Daegu Health College is also laying the groundwork for building a standard model of health and medical education, with 11 health-related departments participating, including the Departments of Nursing, Clinical Pathology, and Radiology, and plans to extend this model across Asia.
"Going forward, we will establish the consortium's curriculum as a global standard and spread it as the benchmark for health and medical education across Asia," said Nam Sung-hee, president of Daegu Health College.
