Hannam University has received the highest "Superior (S)" grade in the 2025 evaluation of the Startup-Focused University Support Program.
The university announced Monday that it received top marks across all areas in a comprehensive assessment covering project performance, outcomes, and operational systems, among 11 universities participating in the Startup-Focused University program run by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development.
Hannam University was highly rated for operating a startup support system based on cooperation with the Daejeon city government and other regional partners. By establishing a cooperative framework with regional startup support organizations, including the Daejeon Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, the university has maintained high satisfaction levels among participating startups.
Since being selected as a Startup-Focused University in 2023, Hannam University has built a system that supports startups across the full lifecycle — from preliminary and early stages to the growth phase — providing systematic assistance ranging from identifying startup ideas to commercialization, investment linkage, and overseas market entry.
This year, the university was also selected as a "Laboratory-Specialized Startup-Focused University," strengthening its system for identifying and nurturing technology-based startups within the campus.
The university has also achieved meaningful results in expanding startup networks and communication, with its "Startup for All" platform — operated to promote the government-led startup ecosystem — becoming the first in the country to reach 1,200 followers.
"Earning the S grade is external recognition of Hannam University's startup support capabilities and achievements in regional cooperation," Hannam University President Lee Seung-chul said. "Marking our 70th anniversary this year, we will further advance our startup support system linked to the Startup-Focused University program and strive to become a university that leads not only the regional but also the national startup ecosystem."
