Ulju County in Ulsan announced Wednesday that it will reduce regular road occupancy fees for 2026 by 25% to ease the financial burden on local small business owners struggling amid the economic downturn.
The reduction applies to small business owners who have obtained road occupancy permits from Ulju County and operate businesses on the permitted sites. To qualify, the permit holder must be a small business owner, and the business size must be listed as "small business owner" on the small and medium enterprise confirmation certificate issued by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Businesses listed as "small enterprise" or "medium enterprise" on the certificate are excluded.
Those seeking the reduction should submit the small business owner confirmation certificate to the Ulju County Road Division by July 11 after receiving their payment notice. The county will verify the documents and reissue a new notice with the reduced amount, which recipients can use to make their payment.
"We hope this road occupancy fee reduction will provide practical assistance to local small business owners facing business difficulties," an Ulju County official said.
