Incheon Port Authority (IPA) is selecting 60 young talents in the port logistics sector. Applications for the "2026 Future Tomorrow Youth Work Experience" program are open until the 24th, with participants to undertake completely revamped projects including artificial intelligence (AI) utilization and island tourism.
The program is a youth employment competency enhancement initiative jointly operated by IPA and Job Moa and Mirae Service, consignment operators for the Ministry of Employment and Labor's National Employment Support System. Participating youth will work on actual job-related projects at IPA and receive mentoring from current employees.
The first round of recruitment will select 12 teams (48 people). Students enrolled at universities in Incheon or university students residing in Incheon can apply in teams of four. Selected participants will undergo preliminary job training on May 1-2 and carry out projects for eight weeks from May 4 to June 26. A second round of recruitment will be conducted separately with Mirae Service, selecting an additional 3 teams (12 people).
This year's projects have been completely revamped compared to last year. In addition to port and logistics fields, the program includes diverse topics such as Incheon island tourism content development, AI-based work automation, AI-based marine pollution prevention promotional materials production, and public institution education gamification projects.
Incheon Port is a key gateway to the capital region, handling the nation's second-largest container cargo volume. The "Incheon New Port Phase 1-2 (fully automated port)" project currently under construction is expected to generate approximately 11,000 jobs during construction and operation phases. This is why securing local young talent is considered a core task for strengthening industrial competitiveness.
"We hope this will enhance Incheon youth's understanding of Incheon Port and help them plan their careers in the port logistics sector," said Shin Jae-wan, Head of ESG Management at IPA. "We will actively support them in acquiring practical capabilities suited to the changing industrial environment."
