A newlywed couple in their 40s was found dead at an apartment in Busan, prompting a police investigation.
According to the Gijang Police Station in Busan, a man in his 40s, identified only as A, was found stabbed to death in an apartment hallway in Gijang-gun at approximately 2:22 a.m. on the 10th.
A woman in her 40s, identified as B, was subsequently discovered dead on the roof of the building's communal entrance. Police believe she fell from a high floor.
The investigation revealed the two were a newlywed couple who had registered their marriage several months ago. The apartment was reportedly where B had been living with her mother.
Based on the weapon and bloodstains found at the scene, police are giving weight to the possibility that B stabbed A to death during a domestic dispute before jumping to her death.
"Considering the stab wounds to the neck area and the overall scene, it appears an extreme choice was made after the crime," a police official said. "We are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident."
