South Jeolla Province announced Wednesday it will conduct a public preference survey to select a website address ahead of the launch of Jeonnam-Gwangju Unified Special City.
As the website address is a key element that will define the unified special city's identity, the province plans to build the brand by reflecting public sentiment.
The seven candidate website addresses are: "jeonnamgwangju.go.kr" and "jeonnam-gwangju.go.kr," which include both region names; "jngj.go.kr," "jn-gj.go.kr," and "jg.go.kr," which combine the initial letters; "jgunion.go.kr," emphasizing the meaning of unification; and "jgcity.go.kr," representing the concept of a single city.
The preference survey will be conducted online until the 30th, and participants can vote by selecting their most preferred address among the seven candidates.
To encourage participation, mobile coffee coupons worth 5,000 won will be provided to 150 randomly selected participants.
South Jeolla Province and Gwangju City plan to finalize the website address based on the survey results and apply it to the temporary website that will launch alongside the Jeonnam-Gwangju Unified Special City.
"We will actively reflect the survey results in selecting a website address that captures the identity of Jeonnam-Gwangju Unified Special City," said Lee Sang-yong, spokesperson for South Jeolla Province. "We hope for your interest and participation."
