Korea Customs Service (KCS) officials displayed seized smuggled silver at the Incheon Airport Customs export-import clearance building in Jung-gu, Incheon, on Wednesday, ahead of a briefing on intensive enforcement measures in response to a sharp rise in silver smuggling.
The value of silver smuggling cases detected in the first quarter of 2026 (January–March) reached 4.56 billion won ($3.3 million), more than 2.7 times the 1.69 billion won recorded for all of 2025, according to KCS.
