Asan City in South Chungcheong Province has partnered with Silkroad C&T, a global company in the concrete admixture sector for advanced construction materials, to address the low birth rate crisis.
Asan City and Silkroad C&T signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for "responding to low birth rates and spreading family-friendly culture" at Asan City Hall on Thursday, agreeing to closely cooperate on revitalizing the local economy and expanding work-life balance culture. At the signing ceremony, Nam Ki-won, a deputy general manager at Silkroad C&T's Asan plant, received 100 million won ($72,000) in company support to celebrate the birth of his third child, adding significance to the event. Silkroad C&T introduced a policy in 2023 that provides 100 million won for employees who have a third child or more.
Under the agreement, Silkroad C&T will continue to pursue family-friendly business initiatives, prioritize hiring local talent, and engage in social contribution activities. Asan City pledged to actively provide tailored administrative support, promotional assistance, and create a business-friendly environment.
