A platform for youth education through sports has been established. Inha University announced on the 7th that it held the 5th Inha University President's Cup Incheon FC Youth Soccer Tournament. A total of 55 teams participated in the event, ranging from kindergarten to middle school divisions, with students learning cooperation and fair play through competition.
The tournament, hosted by Inha University and organized by the Michuhol branch of Incheon United Academy, took place at Inha University's main athletic field. Participating students gathered from across Incheon showcased the skills they had honed through age-group matches.
The event carried educational significance beyond simple competition, allowing growing students to experience healthy physical activity and emotional development together. It also served as an opportunity for participants to build social skills through interaction with peers. Cheers from parents and coaches filled the venue, creating a festive atmosphere where the local community came together.
Inha University has been working to revitalize regional sports through youth athletics programs and tournament operations. The university plans to continue fostering future sports talent through activities linked with the local community.
"For the sustained development of sports in our country, it is most important that students growing up in local communities enjoy and experience sports," Inha University President Cho Myung-woo said. "We will create diverse opportunities so that students can access sports more easily and grow through healthy competition."
