Goyang City Management Corporation is going all out to ensure facility safety and convenience for foreign visitors ahead of a large-scale BTS concert at Goyang General Sports Complex in Gyeonggi Province.
The corporation said Friday that it has activated a field-centered preemptive response system covering everything from facility maintenance to real-time crowd management, anticipating more than 120,000 fans will flock to the concerts scheduled for June 9 and June 11-12.
The corporation fully replaced aging spectator seats and installed individual heating and cooling units in sky boxes and athlete waiting rooms to improve climate control. It also plans to introduce purple-themed lighting matching the BTS concert concept to enhance the immersive experience for fans.
Significant efforts have also been made to accommodate the global fandom. Multilingual guide signs have been placed throughout the stadium, and customized safety signs have been installed at points with trip hazards such as elevation differences along walkways. Repeaters and antennas were additionally installed to prepare for data communication disruptions during mass gatherings.
Safety measures have been strengthened as well. The corporation conducted a joint counter-terrorism drill with related agencies including the Ilsan Western Police Station in March and completed fire alarm and public announcement system tests. During the concerts, a real-time communication channel among fire, police and disaster prevention offices will remain active at all times to enable immediate response in the event of overcrowding.
"We will do our utmost to ensure flawless event operations without a single safety incident," a Goyang City Management Corporation official said.
