The Daejeon Metropolitan Government held an integrity pledge ceremony on Tuesday for its "Anti-Corruption 3-Zero Campaign," attended by some 500 senior officials including Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo and deputy mayors, the city government said.
The 3-Zero Campaign is an initiative aimed at establishing a culture of integrity across the organization, preemptively blocking corruption and raising both internal and external integrity ratings. The three key pledges are: △no private dining or entertainment with work-related parties; △no exchanging of money or gifts with work-related parties; and △no abuse of power between public officials and private-sector or business counterparts.
Following this ceremony for senior officials, the city plans to hold a separate integrity pledge ceremony for working-level staff in May. The city will also pursue customized integrity training, employee-participation integrity events and a slogan contest to spread a culture of integrity embraced by all employees.
"I hope this integrity pledge ceremony served as an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to practicing integrity," Mayor Lee said. "We will continue striving to build an organizational culture trusted not only by citizens but also by ourselves."
