Activists from the Resource Circulation Society Solidarity chanted slogans at Gwanghwamun Square in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on Sunday ahead of a national petition campaign calling for a halt to political party promotional and election banners.
The group demanded a "banner-free election" from all political parties and candidates, stating, "With petroleum supply destabilized by the repercussions of the Middle East conflict, we must end the politics of election banners that use unnecessary plastic in the nationwide local elections on June 3."
