South Gyeongsang Province will deploy a total of 469 hydrogen electric vehicles this year to promote energy-saving culture. The province added 14 units to its original target of 455 hydrogen passenger cars. Purchase subsidies stand at 33.1 million won for passenger cars, 300 million won for city buses, and 360 million won for intercity buses.
The province has been pushing to expand hydrogen vehicle adoption. As of the first quarter, 3,619 hydrogen vehicles were registered in the province and 24 hydrogen refueling stations were in operation, ranking second nationwide in both vehicle deployment and infrastructure. The province plans to add three more hydrogen refueling stations by the end of this year.
Applications will be accepted according to announcements by individual cities and counties. Prospective buyers should sign a contract with a vehicle manufacturer or dealer and then apply through the company on the integrated zero-emission vehicle website.
