Daekyo's early childhood brand "Kkumkkuneun Dalpaengi" (Dreaming Snail) announced on Thursday that it has launched "Delicious Hangul," a workbook that helps young children learn basic Korean letters through play.
Delicious Hangul is a workbook featuring a meal-kit concept. It builds learning content around various food themes each week, such as fish-shaped pastries and ice cream. This allows children to learn Hangul while enjoying the process as if it were play.
The product targets children aged four to seven and includes 10 workbooks, a writing practice notebook, vocabulary cards, a progress chart and stickers.
The workbook focuses on helping children understand the combining structure of consonants and vowels based on the principles behind the creation of Hangul. Rather than simple memorization, it emphasizes understanding the underlying principles so children can naturally build a foundation in reading and writing.
The curriculum is structured around six pages per day over 10 weeks, reducing the learning burden while helping children develop consistent study habits. A progress chart allows children to track their advancement, boosting a sense of achievement and maintaining learning motivation.
"We designed this product by combining the familiar theme of food with a meal-kit concept so that children can naturally absorb Hangul through play and experience rather than treating it as 'studying,'" a Daekyo official said.
