KINTEX, South Korea's largest exhibition center, is strengthening its "open management" framework by incorporating external expert opinions into its operations. The initiative aims to secure future growth engines and enhance the objectivity and credibility of its key priority projects through academic advisory input.
KINTEX held an inauguration ceremony for its "MICE Advisory Panel" on May 26, appointing four academic experts, the company said Tuesday. The panel members are Kim Bong-seok, professor at Kyung Hee University; Yoon Young-hye, professor at Dongduk Women's University; Yoon Eun-ju, professor at Hallym University of Graduate Studies; and Han Jin-young, professor at Catholic Kwandong University — all leading academics in the MICE industry.
The panel members will provide advisory input on operational optimization ahead of the opening of KINTEX's third exhibition hall, a core initiative, as well as on the development of mid- to long-term management strategies.
KINTEX plans to secure expertise and public accountability in its business operations through the advisory panel. Drawing on objective academic perspectives, the company will analyze the needs of stakeholders including exhibition organizers and participating companies, and reflect those findings in its management strategy.
"The formation of this advisory panel is an effort to design the future of KINTEX through the insight of academic experts and to enhance the external credibility of our projects," KINTEX CEO Lee Min-woo said. "At a time when we are about to undertake major infrastructure expansion including the third exhibition hall and an anchor hotel, we will actively embrace the panel's recommendations."
"We will concentrate our management capabilities to establish KINTEX as an exhibition venue that leads the global MICE industry," Lee added.
KINTEX said it plans to reflect strategic recommendations in its management activities through regular advisory panel meetings and contribute to strengthening the global competitiveness of Korea's MICE industry.
