Fine dust will grip the entire country on Friday, March 27, even as daytime highs climb to 25 degrees Celsius, bringing warm spring-like weather. However, extremely dry atmospheric conditions are prompting urgent warnings to guard against wildfires and other fire hazards.
Air quality in some regions, including the Seoul metropolitan area, is expected to deteriorate to its worst levels. Fine dust concentrations will remain at "bad" levels across all regions. Sejong and North Chungcheong Province, in particular, are forecast to worsen to "very bad" levels during the morning and nighttime hours. Dense fog is also expected in many areas starting in the evening, requiring extra caution for traffic safety.
Some areas may see occasional cloud cover or light rainfall depending on the region. Skies will be mostly clear nationwide, but the South Jeolla Province area is expected to be cloudy from dawn through the morning. Incheon and the western coastal areas of Gyeonggi Province are forecast to receive less than 5 millimeters of precipitation from late dawn to early morning.
Temperatures will exceed seasonal averages. A wide daily temperature range calls for attention to health management. Morning lows are expected to start between 2 and 11 degrees Celsius, while afternoon highs will rise to between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius.
Waves in coastal waters are expected to be relatively calm at 0.5 to 1.0 meters. Offshore swells will also remain at a maximum of 1.0 meters.
