Gyeongsangnam-do (South Gyeongnam Province) is expanding disclosure of its regional land expropriation committee's operational information to strengthen transparency. The move aims to boost public trust in the administration by providing faster access to information amid growing public interest in land compensation.
The province announced Wednesday that it has improved the scope and method of disclosing information related to its regional land expropriation committee through the Gyeongsangnam-do provincial government website.
The committee's review results, previously published once every six months, will now be released monthly, allowing the public to check deliberation outcomes more quickly.
The scope of disclosed information will also expand. In addition to existing result reports, the province plans to newly release case-by-case classification tables and lists of appeal adjudication applications, providing related information in a more systematic manner.
The case-by-case classification tables organize deliberation items by region, project type and review outcome. Data from 2021 through 2025 has been published on the provincial website. The data will be updated quarterly on an ongoing basis.
With this measure, landowners are expected to directly verify deliberation results for projects involving their properties and determine their response more quickly and easily. Project operators will also be able to reference past deliberation cases for use in compensation negotiations and adjudication applications.
Local residents can now more easily check on development projects and land expropriation status near their areas of residence.
"We will transparently disclose the operational information of the regional land expropriation committee to enhance public trust and strengthen fairness and rationality in the process of pursuing public interest projects," said Shin Jong-woo, director of the Urban Housing Bureau at Gyeongsangnam-do.
