Attrakt, the entertainment company behind global K-pop girl group FIFTYFIFTY, opened its Hanam Training Center in the city of Hanam, south of Seoul, on Thursday.
Attrakt holds the record for the longest Billboard chart run by a K-pop girl group, with FIFTYFIFTY's hit single "Cupid" charting for 25 consecutive weeks. The company has recently drawn global fandom attention with a cover of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here."
The opening goes beyond a simple office expansion and is expected to lead to broader business growth, including a future headquarters relocation. The move is seen as a strategic location choice aligned with Hanam's push to build a K-culture industry ecosystem.
FIFTYFIFTY will make a special appearance at "Music in the Hanam," the city's flagship cultural festival, on April 18 to perform for local residents.
Hanam is currently pursuing a leap toward becoming a global cultural city through large-scale development projects including a K-culture complex. The arrival of competitive entertainment firms like Attrakt is seen as a signal for the formation of a K-culture industry ecosystem linking content production, performance and distribution.
"The opening of Attrakt's training center demonstrates that Hanam is growing into a substantive hub for the K-culture industry," Hanam Mayor Lee Hyun-jae said. "We will advance into a city where culture and industry converge through cooperation with globally competitive content companies."
