Gyeryong City in South Chungcheong Province announced Wednesday it is recruiting preliminary tenants for permanent rental housing at Gyeryong Daesil 4BL in Duma-myeon.
Applications will be accepted from March 30 through April 3. Eligible applicants must be members of homeless households registered as Gyeryong City residents as of the recruitment announcement date of March 11. Qualifying groups include recipients of basic livelihood and medical benefits, persons of national merit or their bereaved families, victims of Japanese military sexual slavery, single-parent families, North Korean defectors, and registered persons with disabilities.
A total of 65 units will be supplied, comprising 60 units of Type 22A and five units of Type 22B designed for housing-vulnerable residents.
The Type 22B units feature barrier-free design elements for persons with disabilities and elderly residents, including widened doorways, elimination of floor level differences, and installation of safety handrails.
Households seeking tenancy should submit application forms to the administrative welfare center in their respective myeon or dong districts during the application period.
The city will screen applicants based on home ownership status, household income levels, and asset criteria to select final preliminary tenants. Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) will announce the final list of preliminary tenants on August 12 through the LH Subscription Plus website.
"As housing costs rise, residential stability for vulnerable groups has become an increasingly important issue," a city official said. "We hope this helps citizens establish a more stable foundation for living."
