Gyeonggi Province's Goyang City and GU (Goyang Urban Management Corporation) announced on the 19th that they will hold a large-scale welcome event to celebrate the BTS world tour.
The exterior walls of Goyang Stadium and the Singing Fountain's landscape lighting will be changed to purple, BTS's signature color. Starting with the first illumination at 7:16 p.m. on the 24th, the lighting time will be moved up by one minute each day, counting down to the concert D-day.
Goyang City and BTS share a deep connection. Last June, members J-Hope and Jin each successfully completed two solo concerts at Goyang Stadium. The fact that member RM is from Goyang is also raising expectations for this concert. The group will effectively open their first world tour stage as a complete unit in RM's hometown.
The Singing Fountain will operate specially from April 4 to 12, before its official opening. The city plans to provide another attraction for ARMY members visiting Goyang from around the world for the concert.
Economic revitalization effects for the local area are also expected during the concert period.
Kang Seung-pil, CEO of Goyang Urban Management Corporation, said, "It is meaningful that BTS, a world-class artist, will begin their world tour at Goyang Stadium," adding, "We will establish an organic cooperation system with Goyang City, the management agency, and related organizations to create a safe and comfortable concert environment."
