Youngsan University's Busan RISE Project Team has achieved significant results in cultivating AI-based content production talent through its partnership with global cloud company Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Youngsan University announced on December 17 that it successfully completed the "Busan Culture Hub AI Video Production Course" jointly operated with AWS. The program was designed to strengthen university students' employment and entrepreneurship capabilities by integrating AI technology into content production, while nurturing practical talent needed for the regional content industry.
The training was conducted from November 2 to 13, combining sessions at the Haeundae Campus with online learning, with 13 enrolled students participating. The course focused on utilizing AI not as a simple replacement technology but as a tool to expand creative capabilities.
Offline education covered the entire process of webtoon planning and production using generative AI, along with cloud-based collaboration skills. The online course combined global standard cloud and AI education with certification preparation programs.
Despite the short duration, results were notable. A total of 10 participants received certificates of completion, and trainees demonstrated practical competencies by creating AI webtoons and video content based on stories they planned themselves. Notably, two students—Nam Ji-su and Kwak Hee-jae—obtained the global credential "AWS Certified AI Practitioner."
Educational satisfaction was also high. In participant surveys, offline education recorded 100% satisfaction, while online education scored 4.45 out of 5 points.
The Busan RISE Project Team plans to accelerate building a virtuous cycle structure connecting "talent cultivation—employment and entrepreneurship—regional settlement" through this initiative. The program is expected to help resolve workforce shortages at regional content companies and strengthen industry-academia cooperation by supplying customized talent in AI and big data fields.
Kwon Kyung-hwi, head of the Busan RISE Project Team, said, "Next year, we will expand educational targets to tourism, cultural content, and wellness sectors, and increase accessibility by operating during the academic semester." He added, "We will introduce 'vibe coding (conversational coding)' courses that even non-developers can easily use, and pursue the cultivation of convergent talent spanning humanities and arts fields."
