The Korean National Police Agency announced it held the "2026 National Human Rights Instructor Workshop" at the Police Human Resources Development Institute on the 13th.
The workshop was organized to internalize constitutional and human rights values across all police activities and to bring together human rights instructors and provincial police agency human rights officers from across the country to discuss this year's human rights education direction and operational plans.
Approximately 120 participants attended the event, including officials from the Police Agency's Human Rights Protection Division, provincial human rights officers, and internal and external human rights instructors.
At the workshop, the Police Agency's Inspector General emphasized the importance of human rights-centered policing and human rights education. This year's police human rights education direction was shared, and a standard curriculum for the "Police Officer Human Rights Code of Conduct" for field application was introduced.
Participants also held group discussions to share operational plans and improvement suggestions for human rights education that can be practically applied in the field.
The Police Agency explained its plan to strengthen human rights education so that the "Police Officer Human Rights Code of Conduct" can serve as a standard for judgment and behavior for field officers during actual duty performance.
A Police Agency official said, "The goal of human rights education is to ensure that constitutional and human rights values naturally operate throughout all police law enforcement processes."
