The Korea Hiking and Trekking Support Center announced on the 12th that it has newly opened the "Hallasan Dulle-gil Information Center" to provide visitor guidance and trail information for Hallasan Dulle-gil hikers.
The newly opened center is a single-story structure of 109.44 square meters located within the Halla Ecological Forest area in Yonggang-dong, Jeju City.
The facility will serve as a hub for providing trail information, hiking guidance, and safety information to Hallasan Dulle-gil visitors.
Hallasan Dulle-gil is a forest trail consisting of nine sections along the mid-mountain area of Hallasan at elevations between 600 and 800 meters above sea level. It is one of Jeju's representative forest trails, attracting 2 million visitors annually.
The newly opened center is adjacent to Section 9 of Hallasan Dulle-gil and will support visitor guidance and trail convenience.
Previously, visitor guidance for Hallasan Dulle-gil was operated through the Saryeoni Forest Path Information Center. However, due to the high volume of visitors at Saryeoni Forest Path, it was difficult to simultaneously handle administrative tasks and visitor guidance.
Accordingly, a separate information center was established to more systematically perform visitor guidance functions.
In particular, if a circular route connecting Sections 1 and 9 of Hallasan Dulle-gil opens in the future, the newly established center is expected to serve as a major hub linking all sections of the trail.
Seo Kyung-duk, Chairman of the Korea Hiking and Trekking Support Center, said, "With the new opening of the Hallasan Dulle-gil Information Center, we expect visitors to receive trail information more conveniently and use the trail safely. We will continue our efforts to improve the environment for national forest trails and enhance visitor convenience."
