
A fire broke out at a Baekseok University dormitory building in Bangbae-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, prompting dozens of residents to evacuate.
The Seoul Seocho Fire Station received a report of "black smoke" from the Baekseok University dormitory at 12:01 p.m. on the 12th. Authorities dispatched 81 personnel and 21 vehicles, fully extinguishing the fire at 1:01 p.m., approximately one hour after the initial report.
According to fire authorities, dozens of people are estimated to have evacuated on their own when the fire broke out. No casualties have been reported. Fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire.
Earlier, Seocho-gu sent an emergency alert at 12:29 p.m. notifying residents of the fire and advising that "vehicles should detour around the building area, and citizens inside the building should evacuate."
