The Korea Arboretum and Garden Management Service announced on the 11th that it will pilot the "Everyone's Garden, Eum ON Project" through the end of June.
The "Everyone's Garden, Eum ON Project" opens the outdoor exhibition gardens at the Korea National Sejong Arboretum as public performance and exhibition spaces. As part of ESG management practices and efforts to revitalize the local cultural ecosystem, the arboretum is opening its "Eum Garden" to support local residents in planning and operating various cultural events including performances and exhibitions.
The program is open to individuals or groups wishing to host festivals, performances, or exhibitions at Eum Garden. Operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Events for religious proselytizing, political purposes, or commercial purposes are prohibited.
Users of Eum Garden may utilize the stage and pavilions installed in the garden and may borrow arboretum items such as chairs and picnic mats free of charge.
However, due to the nature of the outdoor space, general visitors may pass through the area, and events that may cause excessive noise or safety concerns may be restricted. Venue reservations are confirmed upon purchase of arboretum admission tickets.
Kang Shin-gu, Director of the Korea National Sejong Arboretum, said, "By opening the arboretum's spaces to the local community, we aim to expand opportunities for civic participation and create an open arboretum that engages with citizens."
