ULSAN — The city of Ulsan has completed construction of a new public housing complex designed to ease the housing burden for young residents in Yangjeong-dong, Bukgu District.
Ulsan Metropolitan City held a completion ceremony on the 4th at the site in Yangjeong-dong, Bukgu District, officially launching operations of "Youth U-Home Yangjeong." The newly completed complex marks the first youth public rental housing supplied in Bukgu District.
The five-story building contains 18 units focused on reducing financial burdens and enhancing residential convenience for young tenants. Each unit comes equipped with built-in appliances including refrigerators, washing machines, and electric induction cooktops, eliminating the need for residents to purchase these items separately. Common facilities including a rooftop lounge and individual storage units provide additional amenities.
The 18 households will begin moving in this month.
"We will help young people settle in the region without housing cost burdens so they can focus on economic activities," Ulsan Mayor Kim Du-gyeom said at the ceremony. "We will spare no effort in support, including supplying an additional 150 units by May."
Under the slogan "Ulsan Has a Home for You," the city plans to supply a total of 590 youth U-Home units by 2029 to attract and retain young residents.
