
LG AI Graduate School, Korea's first government-approved corporate graduate school, held its opening ceremony on the 4th and began operating master's and doctoral degree programs.
The graduate school is the first in-house graduate institution in Korea to receive approval from the Ministry of Education. It operates a master's program in artificial intelligence with an enrollment capacity of 25 students and a doctoral program with a capacity of 5 students.
The educational vision is "cultivating top AI talent equipped with domain knowledge and artificial intelligence capabilities." LG AI Graduate School aims to systematically develop industry-oriented AI professionals, global technology innovation leaders in AI research, and talent who can bridge AI research and commercialization.
Lee Hae-sook, Director General of Higher and Lifelong Education Policy at the Ministry of Education, said, "With the launch of LG AI Graduate School as a starting point, we expect this successful precedent of cultivating advanced talent in cutting-edge fields with both theoretical and practical capabilities to spread."
Park Dong-il, Director General of Industrial Policy at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, said, "We expect LG AI Graduate School to play a pivotal role in cultivating core talent who will lead M.AX (Manufacturing AI Transformation) in advanced industries."
Corporate graduate schools are lifelong education institutions established and operated by companies with Ministry of Education approval to train in-house workers as master's and doctoral-level professionals under the Special Act on Talent Innovation in Advanced Industries. Graduates of corporate graduate schools receive academic credentials and degrees equivalent to those from traditional graduate schools.
