Clear skies will prevail across most of South Korea on Wednesday, December 4, with daytime temperatures exceeding seasonal averages and significant temperature swings expected throughout the day.
The Yeongdong region of Gangwon Province and the Gyeongsang region will be mostly cloudy, while the rest of the country remains clear.
Morning lows will range from minus 3 to 4 degrees Celsius, with afternoon highs reaching 9 to 14 degrees Celsius, remaining above average for the foreseeable future. Temperature differences between day and night will exceed 15 degrees Celsius in central inland areas and inland Gyeongsang region.
Snow accumulation of 2 to 7 centimeters is expected in Gangwon Province's mountainous areas until early dawn, with approximately 1 centimeter along the northern Gangwon East Sea coast.
Dense fog with visibility below 200 meters will develop in inland Jeolla Province from dawn through morning. Other regions will also experience patches of fog with visibility under 1 kilometer.
Fine dust levels are forecast to be "good" to "moderate" nationwide. However, northerly winds will carry fine dust from abroad, pushing air quality to "poor" levels in the Seoul metropolitan area and South Chungcheong Province during evening hours, and in Daejeon, Sejong, and North Chungcheong Province late at night.
Wave heights are forecast at 1.5 to 5.0 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 3.0 meters in the South Sea for nearshore waters.
Offshore waters within approximately 200 kilometers of the coastline will see waves of 2.0 to 5.0 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the West Sea, and 1.0 to 4.0 meters in the South Sea.
