
Hankuk University of Foreign Studies announced Wednesday it will hold the inauguration ceremony for Kang Ki-hoon, its 13th president, at Aekyung Hall on the Seoul campus in Dongdaemun-gu on Friday.
Kang graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in computational statistics and earned his master's and doctoral degrees in statistics from the same institution. After joining Hankuk University of Foreign Studies as a professor in 2001, he served in various positions including Director of Administrative Support and Vice President for Industry-Academia Cooperation. He is also recognized for his contributions to academic development and scholarly exchange as president of the Korean Statistical Society. Kang was appointed as the 13th president by the Dongwon Educational Foundation in December last year, with his four-year term beginning March 1, 2026.
