DAEJEON — The Daejeon Metropolitan Government announced Thursday it will significantly reduce land transaction permit zones designated for the Urban Fusion Special District project.
The adjustment follows the November 2024 approval of the master plan for the Urban Fusion Special District, which specified the locations and plans for development projects. The existing permit zone designation was also set to expire in March 2026.
The city aims to ease restrictions on property rights that residents have faced due to the long-standing permit requirements while streamlining regulations for areas where development plans have been finalized.
The adjustment will substantially reduce the regulated area within the district. The Seonhwa district will be completely removed from the permit zone. The Station Area district will see a significant reduction, with only 41,411 square meters designated for the Corporate Innovation and Growth Platform project—where land acquisition and usage changes are expected—remaining under the permit requirement.
The changes take effect March 9, five days after the official announcement. Property transactions in the released and reduced areas will no longer require district office approval, and existing requirements for actual residence and land use will be lifted.
"This reduction will ease property rights for local residents who have experienced inconveniences due to the land transaction permit system," said Jeong Jae-wook, head of the city's Land Information Division. "We will thoroughly manage core areas where speculation concerns remain, while boldly lifting unnecessary regulations to prioritize convenience for citizens."
