The Confucian Traditional Ritual Center, operated by Daejeon Cultural Foundation, announced on Tuesday that it will begin recruiting participating organizations on March 10 for its character education program "2026 Isadong Little Scholars" targeting preschool children.
The first-half program will run every Thursday from April 2 to June 18, totaling 12 sessions. Eligible participants are daycare centers and kindergartens currently operating in Daejeon Metropolitan City as of the recruitment announcement date, with age-appropriate curricula provided.
Applications can be submitted through the Confucian Traditional Ritual Center website on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached. Tuition is entirely free, and round-trip bus transportation to the center will be provided for institutions without their own vehicles.
"We hope this becomes a valuable opportunity for children to learn respect for others and public etiquette," said Baek Chun-hee, CEO of Daejeon Cultural Foundation. "We will actively support our children to grow into future generations with proper character through traditional culture."
"Isadong Little Scholars" is an educational program designed since the center's opening to foster proper values and character virtues in children. Starting this year, the program has added a "traditional games experience" course to help children feel more familiar with Korean culture.
