A government startup support program targeting aspiring entrepreneurs in the Busan region is now in full swing.
Busan Creative Economy Innovation Center announced on the 4th that it will recruit pre-startup candidates from the 6th to the 24th after being selected as the supervising organization for the general sector of this year's Pre-Startup Package program.
The Pre-Startup Package is a government support program that provides commercialization funds and startup support programs to aspiring entrepreneurs with innovative technologies and business ideas. Applications can be submitted through the online K-Startup website.
This year, approximately 110 companies will be selected nationwide in the general sector, with 24 supervising organizations participating. However, the selection quota for each organization may be adjusted based on application results.
Busan Creative Economy Innovation Center will provide selected pre-startup candidates with an average of 40 million won in commercialization funds during the agreement period, distributed in two phases with differentiated support. The center also plans to offer programs spanning the entire startup lifecycle, including business model advancement, prototype production support, professional mentoring, and networking.
An online briefing session will be held to help explain the program. On the 6th, detailed information about the 2026 Pre-Startup Package program and application procedures will be presented through the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development's official YouTube channel. Any aspiring entrepreneur can participate.
A Busan Creative Economy Innovation Center official said, "We will provide intensive support so that aspiring entrepreneurs with innovative ideas can successfully take their first steps," adding, "We will focus our capabilities to ensure this leads to tangible startup outcomes."
