Ulju County in Ulsan announced on the 3rd that it will hold the "Rediscovering Travel: Ulju Best Shot Photo Contest" to uncover hidden local attractions as new tourism resources.
The contest aims to identify unique travel destinations and scenic photo spots hidden throughout Ulju County beyond established tourist attractions such as Yeongnam Alps and Ganjeolgot Cape, developing them into new tourism content and incorporating them into tourism policy.
There are no eligibility restrictions, and anyone may participate with up to two submissions per person.
Applicants can submit their entries via email from August 3rd to 14th, including photo files, application forms, and consent forms for personal information collection, use, and provision.
Ulju County plans to announce final results in October after reviewing all submissions. Total prize money amounts to 5 million won, with awards distributed as follows: one Grand Prize of 1 million won, two Excellence Awards of 600,000 won each, four Encouragement Awards of 350,000 won each, seven Merit Awards of 200,000 won each, and ten Selected Works receiving commemorative medals featuring the Cheonjeon-ri Petroglyphs.
"We expect this contest to highlight and promote the hidden charms of Ulju County from various perspectives beyond our signature tourist destinations," a county official said. "We will do our best to diversify tourism content to make Ulju a destination that attracts visitors from across the nation."
