Seoul's Geumcheon District will hold a community flea market titled "Today for the Earth! Your Geumcheon Market" at Geumcheon District Office plaza at 11 a.m. on Dec. 21.
The event was organized as a carbon neutrality initiative combining volunteer work with environmental, climate, and local issues to commemorate the "2026 International Year of Volunteers."
The market will feature experience and promotional booths operated by Seoul Energy Dream Center and the National Environmental Education Center, busking performances, and caricature and character cotton candy experiences. An environmental drawing contest and environmental Golden Bell quiz for elementary school students will also be held through advance registration.
The district is recruiting 30 seller teams until Dec. 13 to sell eco-friendly zero-waste products, handmade goods, and secondhand items.
"I hope this becomes an opportunity for residents to experience volunteering and environmental action in their daily lives," District Mayor Yoo Sung-hoon said.
