Nexen Tire is accelerating its push into the high-performance electric vehicle tire market by expanding its partnership with Germany's BMW Group.
The company announced Monday that it will supply its "N'FERA SPORT" tires as original equipment (OE) for the new BMW iX3.
The N'FERA SPORT is an ultra-high-performance (UHP) tire designed for high-performance vehicles. It features excellent handling and braking capabilities even in high-speed driving conditions. The tire uses high-strength internal materials to evenly distribute ground pressure and load, while an optimized block design delivers stable braking performance.
The tire incorporates a digitally simulated drainage groove structure that provides stable driving performance on wet surfaces, including rainy conditions. The design addresses the high body weight and instant torque characteristics unique to electric SUVs.
Since beginning OE supply to overseas automakers in 2012, Nexen Tire has rapidly expanded its global supply network. The company now supplies products to major global automakers including BMW Group, earning recognition for its technological capabilities.
These achievements are built on expanded research and development investment. Nexen Tire applies artificial intelligence and virtual reality technologies from new product development through finished product inspection.
Recently, the company became the first in the Korean industry to introduce a "High Dynamic Driving Simulator," enabling precise tire performance verification in virtual environments and shortened development cycles. An AI-based automated product inspection system also enhances production precision and quality competitiveness.
A Nexen Tire official said, "We will continue to expand our premium product supply through ongoing R&D and strengthened cooperation with global automakers."
