The Ministry of Education and Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation have officially launched the National Basic Academic Support Portal.
The portal is an online platform that provides integrated support for basic academic diagnosis, psychological testing, and customized learning for elementary, middle, and high school students.
The new system consolidates basic academic diagnostic tests, supplementary learning materials, and psychological testing tools that were previously offered through three separate websites.
"We established the National Basic Academic Support Portal to advance the government's 101st national agenda item, 'Strengthening Public Education to Bridge Educational Gaps,'" a Ministry of Education official said.
Students can check their learning history and assess their condition using psychological testing tools through the portal. Schools can now comprehensively identify individual students' achievement levels and the causes of their learning difficulties. By combining test results and parent consultation outcomes, schools will select students eligible for learning support and provide them with various learning materials linked to their test results.
New features include continuous learning history management through NEIS (National Education Information System) integration and customized learning materials based on students' diagnostic results. These additions are expected to reduce the administrative burden on teachers related to basic academic instruction.
Starting March 4, elementary, middle, and high schools nationwide can conduct online basic academic diagnostic tests through the portal. Schools may also print test files and administer paper-based assessments depending on their circumstances.
The Ministry of Education and Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation are operating a technical support center to assist teachers, students, and parents with inquiries during the portal's initial launch period.
