HONGSEONG – Chungnam Governor Kim Tae-heum reiterated his call for establishing a National Assembly special committee and pan-government body to pursue proper administrative integration.
At the 83rd department heads meeting held at the provincial government building on the 3rd, Governor Kim stated, "Last week, the administrative integration bill was put on hold at the Legislation and Judiciary Committee," adding, "This was an expected outcome."
"The administrative integration we demanded was intended to overcome the capital region-centric system through fiscal and authority transfers, and to prepare a century-long vision for Korea," Kim said. "A bill that is merely an empty shell is worse than having no bill at all."
He continued, "We are not opposing integration. The integration clock must keep ticking."
Governor Kim emphasized, "Even now, a special committee should be formed in the National Assembly, and the government should establish a pan-government body to pursue integration properly."
