Busan Port AI Transshipment Monitoring System, Open to All Port Users

BUSAN — An intelligent monitoring system that provides a comprehensive view of transshipment operations at the Port of Busan is now open to all port users.

Busan Port Authority (BPA) announced that starting June 3, access to "Port-i," its artificial intelligence and blockchain-based transshipment monitoring system, will be expanded to all registered users of its ChainPortal platform.

Port-i integrates real-time transshipment data from nine container terminals at the Port of Busan, displaying berth, vessel, and cargo handling status on a single screen. Key features include vessel and cargo monitoring, anomaly detection, and consolidated berth schedules across all terminals.

The system combines AI and blockchain technology to enhance data reliability and analytical accuracy, enabling early identification of transshipment delays and improved operational efficiency, according to BPA.

Previously, Port-i access was restricted to shipping lines and terminal operators using the Port of Busan. The expansion now allows logistics companies, freight forwarders, and other users to access the service.

To use Port-i, users must register as a corporate or individual member on ChainPortal, Busan Port's integrated logistics platform, and select the transshipment monitoring menu. Detailed instructions are available on the Port-i website.

"Port-i is the result of three years of development incorporating feedback from the field," said Song Sang-geun, President of BPA. "We will continue to enhance the system based on input from users."
