Air Busan is expanding its Busan-Nagasaki charter service to five flights per week. The airline increased flight frequency and convenience in response to steady demand from local residents.
Air Busan announced on the 4th that it will operate the Busan-Nagasaki charter route five times weekly (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday) from March 29 through April 25. The route launched as a pilot service in October last year and has operated three times weekly since January after confirming strong passenger demand.
The expansion enhances traveler convenience in scheduling as well as frequency. Flights depart Gimhae International Airport at 9:05 a.m. and arrive at Nagasaki Airport at 10:00 a.m. Return flights leave Nagasaki at 11:00 a.m. local time and arrive at Gimhae International Airport at noon. The schedule reflects the "morning departure, midday return" pattern popular for short-haul international travel, allowing passengers to maximize their time abroad.
Air Busan inaugurated the direct route connecting Busan and Nagasaki in October last year. The new service eliminated the inconvenience of transiting through Fukuoka, Japan, and has boosted tourism and business exchanges between the two regions. The route has maintained an average load factor in the mid-90% range since its launch, demonstrating stable demand.
"Accessibility has improved significantly since the direct route opened, and local residents have responded enthusiastically," an Air Busan official said. "We will continue expanding our international network through flexible, demand-based route operations."
