The Incheon Metropolitan Housing Welfare Center announced on the 27th that it received an Excellence Award at the 12th Housing Welfare Activity Best Practices Competition hosted by the Korea Housing Welfare Forum.
The competition recognizes outstanding cases that have contributed to housing welfare-related projects, social contribution activities, and improvements in service delivery systems. Participants include local governments, public corporations, NGOs, and private companies.
The center has worked to eliminate blind spots in housing welfare through various initiatives, including support for improving housing conditions for vulnerable groups, operating mobile housing welfare consultation services, providing customized housing welfare education, and building community-linked housing welfare networks.
In particular, the center has continuously promoted the "Hope Home Repair" project—a public-private partnership social contribution initiative linking local companies' talent sharing—and the "iH-type Age-friendly Customized Home Repair" project. The center received high marks for improving housing conditions for a total of 293 households over the past five years, including 51 through Hope Home Repair and 242 through customized home repair.
Park Jong-ryul, head of the Metropolitan Housing Welfare Center, said, "It is meaningful to receive this award again after the iH Housing Welfare Division won the grand prize at the 8th competition in 2022. We will continue our efforts to improve citizens' quality of life and realize social value."
