Yongin City will consolidate factory registration services at city hall starting January 27, taking over duties previously handled by district offices.
Previously, factory registrations were split between district offices for manufacturing facilities of 500 square meters or less and city hall for larger facilities.
Under the new system, the city's Business Support Division will process all factory registrations regardless of facility size.
The consolidation is expected to shorten processing times and reduce inconvenience for applicants who previously had to visit both district and city offices. A single department will now manage the entire process from factory establishment to registration and follow-up management.
"This measure is part of our innovation efforts to address the practical difficulties businesses have experienced," a Yongin City official said. "By unifying legal interpretations and guidelines at the city level, we can enhance administrative reliability and predictability. We will continue to eliminate unnecessary administrative steps and create the best environment for business growth."
