Ulsan Metropolitan City will launch a subsidy program to convert children's school transport vehicles to LPG-powered models in 2026, aiming to protect children's health from fine dust pollution and improve urban air quality.
The program targets operators who scrap aging diesel vehicles used for children's transportation and replace them with new 9-to-15-seat LPG vehicles. The city plans to provide subsidies of 3 million won per vehicle for a total of 12 vehicles this year.
Applications will be accepted online through the Vehicle Emissions Portal or via registered mail and in-person visits to the Environmental Air Quality Division at Ulsan City Hall until March 26.
"We hope for strong public interest as we work to create a pleasant environment free from fine dust concerns," a city official said.
