Incheon Metropolitan City announced on the 26th that it will fully implement the "Incheon Youth Employment Security Support Program" starting this year. The city plans to invest a total of 5 billion won by 2030 to create 500 full-time jobs.
The program is a new policy independently developed by Incheon in response to the termination of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's "Regional-Led Youth Employment Program." When small and medium-sized enterprises located in Incheon hire local youth as full-time employees, benefits are provided to both companies and young workers.
Companies will receive up to 600,000 won per month in labor cost subsidies for each young worker for a maximum of 12 months. To encourage long-term employment, young workers will receive a total of 1.2 million won in Incheon local currency (Incheon e-eum card)—600,000 won each upon completing 6 months and 12 months of employment.
In the program's first year, 750 million won will be invested to support 70 young workers and 50 companies. Companies wishing to participate can apply online through the BizOK website until the 6th of next month. Youth recruitment procedures will proceed after company selection.
Eligible companies are Incheon-based businesses with 20 or more regular employees. However, companies operating in key future growth industries such as aviation, bio, and robotics, or city-certified excellent companies, can apply with 10 or more regular employees.
Eligible youth are unemployed individuals aged 39 or under (born on or after January 2, 1986) with registered residence in Incheon.
