GS Caltex's Yeosu plant, recognized as a model for corporate social responsibility through its ongoing community partnerships, is expanding its education support initiatives for local youth.
The company held a ceremony on the 26th at the Energy Plus Hall to launch "Energy Dream," a career support program for underprivileged youth. Students, guardians, and officials from Mipyeong Community Welfare Center attended the event, which featured a program introduction and distribution of "Energy Kits."
Energy Dream is strategically linked to the company's existing CSR initiative, "Small Donation WEEK: Happiness from 1,000 Won." The program identifies promising individuals from previous beneficiaries who can serve as role models, providing long-term development rather than one-time financial assistance to address welfare gaps in the community.
The Energy Kit, designed to support students' career aspirations, includes a vision statement frame, coloring books and colored pencils for stress relief, vitamins, and wireless headsets.
Students also participated in a "Vision Board" activity using AIU, the company's internal generative AI platform, to visualize their future goals.
"We hope Energy Dream provides practical support and confidence to local youth pursuing their dreams despite difficult circumstances," a GS Caltex official said. "We will continue authentic CSR activities that create social impact while growing together with the community."
