ADT Caps, the physical security brand of SK Shieldus, announced Thursday that Lee Yong-joo, head of its security escort team, received a commendation from the Chief Prosecutor of the Uijeongbu District Prosecutors' Office for contributing to crime victim protection and support.
The commendation recognized the ADT Caps escort team's "court accompaniment" service for playing a decisive role in ensuring the personal safety of crime victims and preventing secondary harm such as retaliatory crimes.
Since signing a partnership agreement with the Goyang-Paju Crime Victim Support Center in 2019, ADT Caps has provided personal protection services for crime victims for six consecutive years. When victims of stalking, domestic violence, and other crimes who face high risks of retaliation and psychological distress attend investigations or court testimonies, the professional escort team accompanies them, providing comprehensive safety services from route management to close personal protection.
ADT Caps is also taking the lead in proactive crime prevention beyond post-incident support. To address the recent surge in dating violence and random crimes, the company operates safety education programs for vulnerable groups including women, single-person households, and young adults, covering self-defense theory and situational response methods.
Over the past three years, ADT Caps has conducted more than 70 crime prevention training sessions cumulatively, with the number of sessions this year increasing approximately 160 percent compared to 2022.
Going forward, ADT Caps plans to strengthen its community safety network initiatives with the goal of minimizing crime and safety blind spots. Starting in 2026, the company will expand its training programs to include people with disabilities, their families, and welfare facility workers, systematizing hands-on education to enhance crime prevention and daily safety capabilities. The company also plans to offer life safety guidelines and CPR training to improve emergency response skills.
