A fire broke out on the fifth floor of a building near Chungmuro Station on Seoul Metro Line 3 in Jung-gu, Seoul.
According to fire authorities, the blaze started at around 3:42 p.m. on Sunday on the fifth floor of a 14-story building located near Chungmuro Station. All 24 people inside the building and on the rooftop were either rescued or evacuated on their own. No fatalities were reported. One person sustained first-degree burns to the left hand and was transported to a nearby hospital, but the injury was confirmed to be minor.
Fire authorities dispatched 93 personnel and 28 vehicles immediately after receiving the report and brought the fire under initial control at around 4:04 p.m., approximately 30 minutes after the blaze started.
Police and fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire once it is fully extinguished.
